Position:   Database Analyst

The successful candidate for the position of Database Analyst will be experienced in writing complex queries using multiple joins and aggregation functions, and/or have experience writing data transformation routines in a data warehouse environment.  Familiarity with enterprise OLAP software is preferred, and programming experience in a database environment is helpful.  The Database Analyst will interact directly with clients, therefore the position demands the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.  The primary responsibilities of the Database Analyst are developing and troubleshooting data processing logic to load data into SolutionSet hosted marketing databases, and authoring analytic reports. 

Responsibilities:

• Needs analysis and requirements gathering through interaction with external and internal resources. 
• Report creation, maintenance and execution utilizing SQL, Excel, proprietary and third party reporting tools.
• Extensive data auditing and data troubleshooting.
• Understanding and documentation of database schemas.
• Ability to perform a variety of data exploration processes utilizing a variety of applications.
• Data modeling and logical database design.
• Design, develop and implement process flows utilizing proprietary ETL applications and supporting software and tools.
• Perform other activities to support the Oracle database environment including data loads and refreshes.

Requirements/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Strong SQL skills and knowledge required.
• Understanding of relational database concepts required.
• Strong attention to detail is required.
• Ability to solve problems proactively and independently is required.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and extensive knowledge of Excel preferred.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and associated concepts (OLAP, ETL, Dimensions, facts etc.) preferred.
• Experience with ETL tools preferred.
• Experience with any Business Intelligence Tools (Brio, Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Crystal Reports etc.) preferred.
• Experience in direct marketing helpful.
• Other helpful skills/knowledge includes Linux/UNIX operating systems, python or other programming languages.
