Senior Forecaster, The Vermont Country Store
Position: Senior Forecaster
Reports to: Manager of Forecasting & Planning
Classification: Full-time – Salary
Location: Manchester
Major Purpose: The Senior Forecaster is responsible for managing the MM product team and forecasting product demand for multiple business channels to meet strategic goals and objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
- Use Forecast 21 to accurately process, predict and analyze product demand;
- Create and maintain all current and future offers in Forecast 21 module;
- Use Forecast 21 for pre-season planning, in-season forecast adjustments and post-season analysis;
- Analyze the mix percent of products by category, sub-category, or product;
- Perform pre-season planning through past offer comparison;
- Develop a strong, cohesive team for assigned categories and foster collaboration across all Product Teams. Identify team goals that are aligned with organizational strategy and inspire others to share the team’s vision.
- Provide frequent, specific, developmental feedback on performance so that employees know how they are doing, and provide an appropriate amount of balance of reinforcing and corrective feedback. Vary leadership style based on situation and avoid over and under supervision.
- Provide support, direction and encouragement for skill development and succession planning of up to 5 direct reports
- Develop partnerships with vendors. This includes, but is not limited to, discussions on the need for any product projections to ensure on time deliveries;
- Working with the Planners and Liquidations Specialist, participate in the identification and liquidation of overstock merchandise.

- Identify process improvement opportunities, organize and lead any teams required to improve it, present project plans, options, and recommendations to Management, and manage the improvement process to a successful completion;
Additional Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in an inventory planning or management role.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to design and format new reports;
- Outstanding analytical skills;
- Outstanding negotiation skills;
- Proven communication skills, demonstrated with internal and external customers;
- Ability to present and report to upper management;
- Detail oriented;
- Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work with little daily direction;
- Proven ability to work in a team environment;
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, preferred.
