The Sporting Traditions Marketing Manager is responsible for the coordination of all Sporting Service Marketing. The growth of the opportunity will be through an entrepreneurial approach to the uniqueness of these services as offered to our customers. As such, it is expected that this position will enhance our brand awareness of these Services internally and externally, build a marketing platform that speaks in one voice for all the services offered in the US, UK, and abroad, and will include schools (all including retail), travel, ELOG/Wingshooting, Sandanona, dog breeders, dog trainers, guns, as well as all event marketing opportunities through all channels.
Position Interfaces:
This position reports directly to Sr. Manager Web Merchandising, will work closely with the VP, Rod and Tackle and is a Key individual contributor to Rod and Tackle and Sporting Traditions.
Key Performance Measurements:
- Implement strategies and tactics that will increase traffic and conversion by 20%, increase new name acquisition programs by 100%, follow-up market services to all customers using a service or purchasing at retail, and add 1000 names to the Best Buyer File.
- Increase and report on traffic/sessions of Sporting Traditions web pages and increase traffic by 15%, and conversion by 15%.
- Execution of an internal education and communication program that educates associates on the uniqueness of this brand platform (Sporting Lifestyle/Service)s. This will lead to external marketing and product success.
Skill Set Expectations:
- Very strong analytical skills, especially focused on web analytics (Core Metrics and others) will be needed to assure good analysis of work and traction of this position.
- Good networking capabilities both internally and externally.
- High knowledge of web and marketing best practices.
- A risk taker and developer of new programs.
- Creative business thinker that supports/endorses the Orvis product philosophy and brand.

Qualifications:
- 2 – 3 years of on-line marketing/ merchandising experience
- Strong knowledge/ interest of Sporting Traditions
- College degree preferred.
