Thos. Moser Receives Special Honor
We here at Thos. Moser have received a special honor...a senior White House official recently paid a visit to our Washington DC showroom and requested that we make two of our Harpswell Chairs (in walnut) for the Papal visit to Washington DC on April 15-17. We understand that they will be placed on the South Lawn of the White House during what is being called "Morning Diplomatic Reception at the White House." This is scheduled to take place on April 16th, which also happens to be the Pope's 81st birthday! President Bush and Pope Benedict XVI will be seated in our chairs during this reception. The chairs will then reside in the White House until the end of the Bush administration. After that, they will be sent to the George W. Bush Presidential Library (details to be determined) for public display. So if you watch the national news and/or C-SPAN on April 16 you'll probably see two of the most powerful leaders in the world sitting in Moser chairs, which were made right here in Maine.
